Ranveer Singh to play Mukesh Khanna's iconic Shaktimaan in film trilogy, Om Raut to direct?

On February 10, it was announced that the popular TV show Shaktimaan will be made into a feature film. Originally starring Mukesh Khanna, the superhero show was a massive hit and remains India’s most iconic brand. Now, as the film is currently in the pre-production stage, there are rumours that Ranveer Singh has been approached to play the role of Pandit Gangadhar Vidyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri.

Reportedly, Om Raut is in talks to direct Shaktimaan. According to reports, the filmmaker will start working on his new project after releasing his film Adipurush next year. There is no confirmation from Ranveer's team. Sony Pictures International Productions is yet to issue a statement on this development.
