It is disheartening: Hina Khan reacts to not being invited to India Pavilion at Cannes Film Festival 2022

Hina Khan is attending the Cannes Film Festival 2022. On Thursday, she walked the red carpet. The actress will be launching the poster of her upcoming film Country of Blind. Apart from Hina, many celebrities from the Indian entertainment industry are attending the festival. Stars like Deepika Padukone, Pooja Hegde, Tamannaah Bhatia, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, R Madhavan, A R Rahman and Urvashi Rautela are representing India, which is the country of honour at the Marche Du Films, also called Cannes Film Market.

During the festival, Deepika, Nawazuddin, Pooja, Tamannaah, Mame Khan and others attended a ceremony at the Indian pavilion. However, Hina and Helly Shah were missing. In an interview with an entertainment portal, Hina opened up about not being a part of the ceremony. She told, "We all belong to the same industry and we all have come here to represent India. I am very very excited about the launch of the poster of my film. Everybody knows I’ll be coming to launch my poster and I am from the Indian pavilion so I was very excited."

She further said it was disheartening to not be there with other celebrities. Hina said she could have been a part of the audience and cheered for her country. "There was this opening ceremony and an event happened in the India pavilion, there was everyone, not just from Bollywood, but also singers too. I am proud of them but at the same time, it is disheartening that why I was not there. They were doing ghoomar. I saw that video and I am proud of my country. I don’t blame the celebrities. I feel it’s the people on the field who act," she added.

Hina and Helly have done extensive work on Indian television.
