Priyanka Chopra Jonas' & Nick Jonas' daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas' name is a tribute to both their mothers: Reports

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, who welcomed their baby girl through surrogacy in January this year, have been tightlipped about their little one. However, media reports suggest that their daughter has been named, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. 'TMZ' has seen the birth certificate of the couple's child and has reported the baby girl's name. 'TMZ' also revealed her time of delivery as January 15, 8 pm (Pacific Standard Time).

While Malti is an Indian name of Sanskrit origin, Marie is a Christian name. The newborn has both her parents' surnames and her names honour both her parents' heritage and culture. Now, we have new information on the little one's name. The couple has paid tributes to their mothers with their daughter's name. Fans have been sharing that Malti and Marie are the middle names of the baby's grandmas. Priyanka's mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra's Instagram page is also under the username, “madhumalati”. Meanwhile, Denise Jonas, who is the wife of Kevin Jonas Sr and mother to Nick, Kevin, Joe and Frankie, has the middle name Marie. Well, that's an adorable tribute to PeeCee's and Nick's mothers.

Announcing the baby's birth, Nick and Priyanka had posted on Instagram. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much," they had written.

PeeCee recently made a small mention of becoming a mother for the first time during a video with Lilly Singh. “As a new parent right now, I keep thinking about that I will never be imposing my desires, fears, my upbringing on to my child. I have always believed that children come through you not from you. There is no belief like this is my child and I will shape everything. They come through you to find and build their own life. Recognising that really helped me, my parents were very non-judgemental in a certain way,” she said.
