As a society, we have deteriorated so much: Urmila Matondkar comes out in support of Shah Rukh Khan after trolls accuse him of spitting on Lata Mangeshkar's mortal remains

Shah Rukh Khan attended Lata Mangeshkar's funeral on Sunday and was seen offering prayers by reading a dua while paying his last respects to the legendary singer. His manager Pooja Dadlani was with him and prayed with folded hands. The superstar, after reading the dua, was seen blowing air from his mouth on the Bharat Ratna recipient's mortal remains. In Islam, this is said to be a part of the prayer for the departed soul.

The video of Shah Rukh praying for Lata Didi's soul went viral on social media. However, a BJP leader questioned whether the superstar spat on the singer's mortal remains. Netizens trolls the leader for 'spitting venom and hate'. Now, Urmila Matondkar has come out in support of Shah Rukh. In an interview with a news portal, she said, "As a society, we have deteriorated so much that we think praying is spitting. You are talking about an actor who has represented the country on various international platforms. Politics has reached such low levels and it's really sad."
