'COVID-19 positive Lata Mangeshkar's condition is improving,' says Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope 

Fans across the globe are praying for India's nightingale, Lata Mangeshkar's speedy recovery from COVID-19. The legendary singer remains under medical care at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital where she was admitted on January 11. While she is still in the ICU, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope gave an update. 

Addressing the media in Jalna, Mr Tope said Lata Didi is recovering and her condition is improving. "Lata Mangeshkar's condition is improving. I spoke to authorities of the Breach Candy Hospital who updated me about her health. I told them that the spokesperson of the hospital should provide updates on the singer's condition as people are eager to know about her health," Mr Tope told.

In a statement to PTI, the family's spokesperson slammed false reports of Lata Didi's deteriorating health. "It is disturbing to see false news being circulated. Please note that Lata didi is stable. Continues to be in ICU under treatment of able doctors. Please pray for her quick return home," the spokesperson stated. 

Lata Mangeshkar, 92, had mild symptoms of COVID-19. She is said to be suffering from pneumonia too.
