Dilip Kumar admitted to hospital once again after complaining of breathlessness

Dilip Kumar, 98, was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital on Tuesday morning. The veteran actor complained of breathlessness and is currently under observation in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This is the second time that Dilip Sahab has been hospitalised. A hospital source informed a leading daily that doctors will check him and then take a call on the treatment that needs to be given.

"Dilip Kumar was brought to the hospital yesterday, he had the same complaints that he had last time. So his family probably thought it was best to bring him to the hospital, considering his age and also because he was previously admitted with the same complaint. Today the doctors will see him again and take a call on his line of treatment. He is in the ICU so that we can continuously monitor him. He is under observation and he is stable. There is nothing to worry about," the source told the daily.

On June 6, Dilip Sahab was shifted to the same hospital for breathlessness. He was diagnosed with "bilateral pleural effusion along with a drop in oxygen saturation". He was discharged on June 11 and his wife, Saira Banu, told a leading daily that the family will continue to treat with antibiotics.

Surgery was performed before Dilip Sahab got discharge. Dilip Sahab's confidant, Faisal Farooqui, tweeted, "Thank you for your prayers. A successful pleural aspiration procedure was performed on Dilip Saab. I personally spoke to Dr. Jalil Parkar and Dr. Nitin Gokhale. They are optimistic that he will be discharged tomm (Thursday).- FF"
