Kajol's 'Devi' producer Ryan Stephen passes away; Manoj Bajpayee mourns the loss

Devi & Indoo Ki Jawani producer Ryan Stephen passed away this morning. Indoo Ki Jawani director  Abir Sengupta confirmed the news with PeepingMoon and revealed the producer passed away due to COVID-19. 

The Family Man writer Suparn Varma informed about the sad news on Twitter. He wrote, "Life is cruel! But you were kind! @ryanmstephen thank you for your compassion in a ruthless world. I’m glad we undertook a journey on a few stories, the joy in writing them was because of you. You leave behind so many who loved you. Cook up a storm my friend. God bless you"

Manoj Bajpayee mourned the loss and tweeted, "It’s so so shocking for all of us who knew this gentle soul .It really can’t be true!! I will miss you my friend RYAN" 

Ryan was the founder of Electric Apples Entertainment. He founded the production company along with Niranjan Kannan Iyengar on May 20, 2019. The duo produced Kajol's short film Devi and Kiara Advani-Aditya Seal's Indoo Ki Jawani under their banner. The film received critical acclaim and even received a Filmfare award. 

On March 28, the producer had shared a selfie with Niranjan, Kajol and their Filmfare award. Sharing the happy photo, he had written, "Pinch me!!! @filmfare #dreamsdocometrue

Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani also paid their tribute to Ryan on Instagram stories.
