Nawazuddin and his son Yaani celebrate their birthdays over video call, reveals actor’s wife Aaliya Siddiqui

Nawazuddin Siddiqui celebrated his 47th birthday today (May 19) with his son, Yaani Siddiqui as the father-son duo share the same birth date. On Tuesday night, the father-son duo celebrated their birthdays over a video call. Nawazuddin’s wife, Aaliya Siddiqui revealed that they connected over a video call to wish each other. The actor is currently in his hometown Budhana, while his wife and children are at their family farmhouse in Kasara.

Speaking to a leading daily, Aaliya revealed that she arranged for a birthday cake for their son and Nawazuddin joined in the celebrations through a video call. She said, “We had a midnight cake cutting for Yaani and Nawaz joined over a video call. He wished Yaani in the morning again. Nawaz is in touch with the kids daily. We couldn’t arrange gifts for Yaani due to the situation but their uncle Shamas spoils the kids with toys (every) now and then."

She further added and said, “Nawaz and I always felt that instead of splurging money on a lavish party every year, we should instead donate the same amount to those in need. So this year too, we are going to do the same."

Nawazudddin and Aaliya had briefly separated last year and the latter had even filed for divorce. Aliya had even said that she will revert to her birth name of Anjana Kisho Pandey after the divorce. However, after much back-and-forth the couple has decided to give another go at their marriage. She had revealed that while she battled COVID-19 in March, Nawazuddin took care of her and the children keeping aside all their differences.

She had told a leading daily, “This pandemic was an eye-opener. I realised what matters the most is the well-being of your children and good health. Our children need us, and if their happiness lies in us being together, we can keep our disagreements aside. I have withdrawn the legal notice that I had filed. I don’t seek divorce anymore, and I want to give this marriage a chance."
