Just as we thought 2021 has nothing interesting happening in 2021, Rahul Dravid sprung up a surprise by featuring in an advertisement that we didn't see coming. The former captain of the Indian national cricket team is known for his calm and respectful demeanour. But thanks to Tanmay Bhat and his team, he transformed into the angry Indiranagar Ka Gunda in the commercial. Let's simply agree that one can't get enough of the ad.
Now, Tanmay has finally released a vlog in which he charted Rahul's journey from the real-life down-to-earth man to a reel 'gunda'. In the video, Tanmay spoke to people who were on the sets while shooting. Highlighting Rahul's humbleness, the comedian said that because the team had their AC switched on in the car, they asked the former cricketer whether he wanted to switch his car’s AC as well. However, in response to this, Rahul said, "It is wasteful to switch it on just for AC."
Tanmay and Rahul further spoke about his batting grip and style. The video was recorded when Rahul gave the final shot of the ad in which he got out of the sunroof and yelled, "Indiranagar Ka Gunda Hoon Main." In the end, the entire team lavished praise on Rahul for being down-to-earth and humble.
Indiranagar Ka Gunda ad kickstarted a meme fest on social media. Even Deepika Padukone participated in her own unique way.
