Vidhu Vinod Chopra confirms Aamir Khan's PK sequel is on the cards, reveals Ranbir Kapoor will take story forward

Aamir Khan's PK (2014) was one of the most loved films. It was appreciated by the critics and audience alike. Starring Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt and Sushant Singh Rajput, the Rajkumar Hirani directorial struck a chord with everyone instantly. Apart from performances and a relevant story, what caught everyone's attention was Ranbir Kapoor's special cameo. In the end scene, Ranbir was shown as a resident of Aamir's planet who landed on the planet while PK made his way back home successfully. 

Fans were curious to know more about Ranbir's character and were quick to understand that a sequel is due. Now, there is some interesting news for fans of PK. Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra told a leading daily that PK's second installment is on the cards and the Kapoor scion will take the story forward. "We will make the sequel. We had shown Ranbir [Kapoor’s character landing on the planet] towards the end of the film, so there is a story to tell. But Abhijat [Joshi, writer] has not written it yet. The day he writes it, we will make it," Vidhu told.

Aamir played the role of an alien who lands on Earth from another planet. He accidentally loses the device to communicate with his spaceship. PK was a satire on society and its religious beliefs. Anushka played the role of Jaggu, a journalist while Sanjay was Bhairon 'Bhaia' Singh aka PK's friend. Sushant was seen as Sarfaraz Yousuf, a Pakistani Muslim and Jaggu's love interest.
