Bengali actor Arya Banerjee, who has acted in several Bollywood films like The Dirty Picture and Love, Sex and Dhokha was found dead at her Kolkata residence in mysterious circumstances. She was found dead on Friday and the police are treating it as a case of suspicious death. She was 33 years old.
Arya was found dead at her house in Kolkata’s Jodhpur Park after the police broke open the door of her third-floor apartment. Reportedly, Arya aka Devdutta was alone at her residence and there were signs of her having vomited some food. She was found lying on the floor with her face down with some blood droplets on the floor next to her body.

A leading daily, quoted a senior police officer of Lake police station, “Primarily there appears to be no foul play. The exact cause of death will be known when the post-mortem report reaches us.” Apparently, Arya’s domestic help got suspicious and informed the neighbours who called the police after the actress did not respond to doorbell and phone calls in the morning. Her domestic help said that Arya lived alone and kept to herself mostly.
Arya was the daughter of late sitarist Nikhil Banerjee and was a model as well. Bidita Bag paid tribute to Arya.
