Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Devil' with Ranbir Kapoor to be 'darker and more intense' than Shahid Kapoor's 'Kabir Singh'?

Shahid Kapoor's and Kiara Advani's Kabir Singh completed one year since release today (June 21). Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film was the Hindi remake of the director's Telugu project Arjun Reddy. While Kabir Singh garnered attention for its intense and dark, Sandeep is currently working on a script that will elevate the toxicity. Rumoured to be titled Devil, reports of the film being in the making with Ranbir Kapoor were doing the rounds for quite some time now. According to the buzz, Ranbir who is yet to give a final nod, met Sandeep yet again in January for another narration.

However, a couple of months ago, reports of Prabhas being roped in instead of Ranbir did the rounds. Stating that as false, a source close to Devil informed a leading daily that Ranbir hasn't given up and the film will feature the actor in a never-seen-before dark role. The source added that 'darkness and toxicity in Devil will be much more intense than what was seen in Kabir Singh'. "Ranbir hasn't given up on the film. It's a dark role that Ranbir has never attempted before. However, before signing the film, Ranbir wants to read the full bound script. The next meeting is scheduled in August," the source told.
