Sushant Singh Rajput's idol Shah Rukh Khan mourns his sudden death: 'He loved me so much, I will miss him'

In a piece of shocking news, Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide on Sunday morning by hanging himself at his Mumbai residence. The actor, 34, took the drastic step after reportedly suffering from depression for the past six months. Sushant's maid and friends broke open the door to find him dead and informed the police, who is currently investigating the case. The news jolted Bollywood and celebrities poured out their heartfelt condolences.

Shah Rukh Khan, who was Sushant's idol, shared a picture with the actor on his Twitter and wrote, "He loved me so much...I will miss him so much. His energy, enthusiasm and his full happy smile. May Allah bless his soul and my condolences to his near and dear ones. This is extremely sad....and so shocking!!"

Sushant, who quit engineering to become and actor, mentioned during an interview with a leading daily that he was a huge fan of Shah Rukh and played an important role in making his career decision. "I was a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan. I remember watching Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and thinking now here’s a cool dude. He is a great performer, but that’s not what impacted me most: Shah Rukh helped me sort out my confusion about who I should be," Sushant told during the interview.
