‘Blessed to be a part of this film,’ says Suniel Shetty as he celebrates ‘Border’ completing 23 years

One of JP Dutta’s biggest hits Border is one of the most popular and well-loved patriotic films ever released. The film completed 23 years today on June 13. To mark the occasion, Suniel Shetty, who played an important role in the 1997 war drama, and its composer Anu Malik paid tributes to it.

Suniel shared a fan art on Instagram and captioned it, “A film a journey... 23 years of #Border Image courtesy, fan created.” Suniel, who essayed the role of BSF Commander Bhairon Singh, tweeted on Saturday, "Blessed to be a part of this beautiful film."

Anu Malik also tweeted and wrote, “The most loved Patriotic song 'Sandese Aate Hai' Reverberates across the world even today. Jai Hind Jai Bharat Thank you JP Dutta Saab for having me as the composer of such a magnificent film BORDER.. 23 years and counting #23YearsOfBorder @RealNidhiDutta.”

Border also starred Sunny Deol, Akshaye Khanna, Jackie Shroff, Sudesh Berry, Puneet Issar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Raakhee and Pooja Bhatt. It was set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
