It's time we should come forward and support them: Sanjay Dutt urges everyone to help dabbawalas as the workforce of 5K men struggle for their own meals

The current pandemic situation has put a halt on the daily functioning of people's lives and one is forced to stay at home in order to curb the spread of the virus. Sanjay Dutt, being one of the most celebrated actors of the industry, shared his concerns and extended his support towards the dabbawalas.

Taking to his social media the actor shared, "The dabbawalas have been serving us for decades & bringing food to so many Mumbaikars. Now is the time when we should come forward and support them!  @CMOMaharashtra @AUThackeray @SunielVShetty" The actor also retweeted a post shared by Cabinet Minister Aslam Shaikh which further highlighted the plight of the Mumbai dabbawalas.

Despite feeding lakhs of Mumbaikars for the past 125 years, the Mumbai 'tiffin wallahs' are witnessing unprecedented times amid the COVID-19 pandemic as they are struggling for their own meals. Out of job since March, the Mumbai dabbawalas are struggling to make ends meet during the ongoing coronavirus crisis. Widely considered as one of the most efficient workforces, the 125-year-old network used to deliver thousands of foods dabbas for the residents of Mumbai on a daily basis.
