It won't be wrong to say that Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor managed to brighten the screen with their presence. The former couple did not just prove to be an audience favourite but were a hit with the critics too. While they parted ways, their admirers continue to adore their chemistry with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The Ayan Mukerji directorial broke all records and emerged as an iconic youth film that is cherished forever. Today, as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani completed 7 years, Deepika got nostalgic.
The actress, on her Instagram account, shared unseen pictures of Ranbir and her from their first look test. In the first click, we can see Deepika beautifully dressed in a pastel-hued lehenga while Ranbir looked handsome in a black and white outfit. In the second picture, the two are seen seated on a bench as they can't take their eyes off each other. "Our very first look test... ‘Yaadein mithai ke dibbe ki tarah hoti hain...Ek baar khula, toh sirf ek tukda nahi kha paoge’-Naina Talwar," wrote Deepika while sharing the pictures.
Karan Johar, the producer of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, called the film relevant for all generations. "It's been 7whole years since this gang of friends came into our lives & taught us all about friendship and love. A movie still so relevant for all generations!!" Karan wrote while sharing a promo of the film.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. After 3 Idiots, it was the second film to cross Rs. 300cr worldwide. Directed by Ayan, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani also starred Aditya Roy Kapur, Kalki Koechlin, late Farooq Sheikh and Kunaal Roy Kapur among others.
