'Hero' Sonu Sood reportedly airlifts 177 Odia girls from Kerala, sends them to their hometown Bhubaneswar safely

In the wake of the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown, Sonu Sood has been winning the hearts of millions by extending his helping hand to those in need. From providing food to sending hundreds of migrants to their hometown from Mumbai safely, the actor has proven to be the real-life hero. Taking his selfless initiative of helping people out in the time of crisis, Sonu reportedly airlifted 177 young girls from Kochi. The girls, who originally hail from Bhubaneswar, were hired for embroidery and stitching work at a factory in Ernakulam, Kerala. However, due to the Coronavirus lockdown, the factory stopped its operations and the girls had nowhere to go. A source close to the development informed that as soon as Sonu got to know about the girls, he started the process of airlift with necessary permissions in place.

"Sonu was informed about the same by a close friend from Bhubaneswar and he decided to take charge of the situation and do his best for the girls. He started the process by taking several permissions from the government to have Kochi and Bhubaneswar airport to be operated. A special aircraft has been called from Bangalore to airlift these girls from Kochi who will be now taken to Bhubaneswar so they can finally reunite with their families. The duration from Bhubaneswar to their village is going to be 2 hours and soon after finishing their journey, the girls will be heading back home," the source told.
