Kanika Kapoor gets notice from Lucknow Police after issuing clarifications on social media on COVID-19, asked to report before April 30

Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor who tested COVID-19 positive last month and earned a lot of flak for not adhering to government guidelines of self-quarantine and self-isolation after coming from London had issued a statement explaining all the controversies surrounding her. Kanika was discharged from hospital after recovering from the deadly and novel Coronavirus in Lucknow but was found missing from her apartment when health professionals went to check on her for a subsequent test. However, her social media statement has not gone down too well with the Lucknow Police who have asked her to record her statement with them.

Reportedly, Lucknow Police pasted a notice at her house, asking her to record her statement after being charged under IPC Section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and Section 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the IPC. She has been asked to record her statement at Sarojini Nagar Police Station, Lucknow on April 30.
