Exclusive: You don't touch legendary films: Abhimanyu Dassani says he will 'never' be a part of mother Bhagyashree's and Salman Khan's 'Maine Pyar Kiya' remake

The iconic film Maine Pyar Kiya, which starred Salman Khan and Bhagyashree in the lead roles, clocked 30 years but still feels fresh in the hearts of several fans. The film resonates with today's generation through its iconic scenes and dialogues even today.

Bhagyashree's son Abhimanyu Dassani, who made an unconventional yet amazing debut with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota in 2019 recently, had an exclusive live chat with PeepingMoon wherein he revealed he would never touch the "legendary film". When asked if he would like to be a part of his mom's and Salman's film if ever remade, Abhimanyu was quicky enough to respond, "No, I will not do it. You don't touch legendary films. There is a reason why that film is still loved after 30 years. You cannot decide that now I will remake a legendary film. It happens when the universe comes together - it has to have the right actor, the right actress, the right director, the right music, the right editing, everything has to be right. I would not even touch it."

When further asked if he imagines any other actor in the remake, Abhimanyu said, "I would not watch it only."

Looks like Abhimanyu, who will be next seen in Sabbir Khan's Nikamma, is very clear with him film choices.
