After Irrfan's 'Angrezi Medium', makers of Tiger Shroff's-Shraddha Kapoor's 'Baaghi 3' eyeing for a digital re-release?

The sudden emergence of Coronavirus brought the world to an unpleasant standstill. With a complete lockdown imposed in countries like India, the economy hit the rock bottom like never before. Be it the supply of essentials or major businesses, everything has been affected beyond imagination. Similarly, the film industry also has faced the brunt of the lockdown with releases postponed indefinitely and shoots stalled till next instruction. Apart from this, projects like Irrfan's Angrezi Medium and Tiger Shroff-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Baaghi 3 which managed to make it to the screens before the shutdown was announced, incurred major losses.

While there is no clarity when theatres will open for the public, the makers of Angrezi Medium recently went for its digital re-release on Disney + streaming platform. Now, according to reports, the team behind Baaghi 3 is also said to be eyeing a web re-release. As per the development, the action-thriller that enjoyed a good run at theatres before the lockdown, will stream on digital platforms in the month of May or June.

Talking about Coronavirus, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, on March 14, announced that public places like theatres, malls, parks, beaches, gyms etc will remain shut until March 31 due to the alarming spread of the novel COVID-19. Angrezi Medium, also starring Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor Khan amongst others, released on the day the instruction came in. Baaghi 3, however, got a week's runtime to its merit. 

Considering the intensity of the virus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a complete lockdown from March 25 to April 14. Amongst the states majorly affected by Coronavirus, Maharashtra leads from the front with Mumbai being home to maximum COVID-19 positive cases. Pune is the second affected in the state.
