Arjun Rampal and his girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades managed to make headlines for their relationship and then for embracing parenthood with the birth of their son Arik. The South Africa based fashion designer became the center of attention in no time. Be it workouts or casual outings with Arjun, Gabriella was all over the Internet. Gabriella, after welcoming Arik, received congratulatory messages as well as flak for not getting married before having a child. While Gabriella stayed silent on the matter, she opened up about her personal choices during an interview with a leading daily. In the interview, she told that one doesn't have to get married for a baby. She further said that despite societal pressures, personal choices are of utmost importance.
"I don’t think you necessarily have to get married. I think there is no ‘one way’ to always do something; to each their own. Yes, there is societal pressure, but personal choices are important. When it comes to deciding what gender you want to be, who you want to date or marry, it should be left to the individual or individuals concerned. Just like in other parts of the world, people here, too, are opening up and accepting others’ choices. I have always been accepting of others and their choices, so hopefully, the world will accept mine," Gabriella told.
Arjun, who was formerly married to Mehr Jesia, called it quits with her in 2018. The two are parents to Mahikaa and Myra. Soon after the news of Arjun's and Mehr's split came across, the former was seen spending time with Gabriella, sparking off dating rumours. It was only confirmed when Arjun announced her pregnancy in April 2019. Arjun and Gabriella welcomed Arik in July 2019.
