The nation, today, woke up to the unfortunate news of Konkana Sen Sharma and her estranged husband Ranvir Shorey filing for a divorce. The couple, who was living separately for the last five years, reportedly headed for a legal split by mutual consent. According to a report on an entertainment portal, Konkana and Ranvir have completed all necessary formalities and will be receiving the divorce decree in the next six months. A source close to the development informed the portal that despite separating from each other as man and wife, Konkana and Ranvir will continue to parent their son eight-year-old son Haroon Shorey together by sharing his custody.
"This is one of the most amicable divorces ever seen. But yes, it is extremely sad that they could not get back together as man and wife," the source close to the development told.
Konkana and Ranvir tied the knot in 2010 in a private ceremony. Haroon was born in 2011. The couple announced their separation five years later on Twitter in September 2015. Konkana, in her announcement tweet, wrote, “Ranvir and I have mutually decided to separate, but continue to be friends and co-parent our son. Will appreciate your support. Thank you". Now, after staying individually for five years, they seem to have called it quits forever.
Konkana and Ranvir who did films like Traffic Signal, Aaja Nachle and Gour Hari Dastaan - The Freedom File, reportedly tried giving their marriage a second chance by approaching a counselor, but alas, they came to no common ground.
