Riteish Deshmukh announces trilogy on Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, to be directed by Nagraj Manjule

Director Nagraj Manjule and Riteish Deshmukh have announced a multilingual trilogy on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. They announced the films on the Maratha ruler’s 390th birth anniversary. The film will be produced by Riteish’s production house - Mumbai Film Company. 

The actor took to Twitter and shared a teaser of the announcement in Marathi that can be translated as, “Proud to present. Seeking your blessings, Jay Shivray."

Manjule also shared the promo on social media. He captioned the promo in Marathi that can be translated as, "Standing at the threshold of a dream, this might be the case... Today, on the occasion of Shivaji's birthday, it is a pleasure to say that Shivratri is coming along with Ritesh Deshmukh and Ajay-Atul." 

The trilogy’s music will be scored by Ajay-Atul and the film will go on floors soon. The film is scheduled to release in 2021. 

Meanwhile, Riteish will be next seen in Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Baaghi 3 whereas Manjule is gearing up for the release of his next directorial Jhund that stars Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.
