The trailer of Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan starrer Love Aaj Kal was released today. The film tells a different story from the original film of 2009 that featured Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead. The film was touted to be a sequel to the original film but today, director Imtiaz Ali refuted all such rumours and said that the film is totally different from the previous one and showcase love in the current relevant times.
During the media interaction at the trailer launch, Imtiaz was asked why he kept the same title as the original film. To this, he said, “The love scene today has completely changed from what it was ten years ago and maybe we can make a franchise of the film as the meaning of love and relationships change after another ten years.” Watch him speak about making a franchise out of Love Aaj Kal with the same name but different stories in the coming years below:

Love Aaj Kal also stars Randeep Hooda and newcomer Aarushi Sharma. The film is presented by Jio Studios, Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Imtiaz Ali and Reliance Entertainment’s Window Seat Films. It is slated for a Valentine’s Day 2020 release.
