It isn't an unknown fact that Ranbir Kapoor, apart from being a phenomenal actor, is an avid and brilliant football player. Fans of the Sanju actor leave no opportunity to catch a glimpse of their favourite star every Sunday before he heads back home after a rigorous game. The 'number 8' jersey actor is indeed a fan of the game and also owns his team, reportedly named Mumbai City FC, which on Saturday, played a tournament against another team that participated in the ongoing soccer tournament.
Like a supportive owner and an avid football player, Ranbir marked his presence at the match. But, he wasn't alone. The 37-year-old actor was accompanied by his girlfriend Alia Bhatt. Alia and Ranbir, a couple of days ago, had whisked off to Thailand with Ayan Mukerji, who is the couple's friend and also directing them in Brahmastra. Upon returning to the bay, they cheered for the team with enthusiasm. For the outing, Ranbir sported blue tee and denim while Alia kept it casual in pants and tee. Holding the team's flag in her hand, the actress couldn't stop smiling. Pictures of the couple from the tournament arena were shared by their fan clubs on social media platforms.
Ranbir and Alia will share the screen space for the first time in Brahmastra. The mythological fantasy film is bankrolled by Karan Johar under his banner, Dharma Productions. The film, apart from Ranbir- Alia, features Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagararjun and Dimple Kapadia in important roles. Shah Rukh Khan is said to be a part of the film in an important cameo. It is said to release during Summer 2020.
Workwise, Alia is currently shooting for her father Mahesh Bhatt's directorial, Sadak 2. Soon she will begin with S S Rajamouli's RRR, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi and Karan's Takht. Ranbir is shooting for Yash Raj Films' Shamshera and will soon start with Luv Ranjan's yet-to-be-titled film with Shraddha Kapoor.
