Filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari has already wrapped up the shooting of her film Panga, and in an earlier Instagram post, she had thanked actress Kangana Ranaut for bringing out the best in her. However, there have been rumours that she insisted on Kangana signing a non-interference clause before she started filiming. Talking about it, Ashwiny told a leading daily, “You shouldn’t judge anyone." In fact, she opened up on her bond with Kangana and mentioned, “Kangana and I have become friends over the two-year journey of the film. I have realised that when she loves someone, she will take care of them all her life.”
Claiming that Kangana only interfered as much as her DoP, art director and assistant director, Ashwiny insisted that it doesn't bother her much that Kangana is opinionated as her insights have made the film better. She further mentioned how Kangana had to put on some weight, but immediately lost the kilos, only to gain them back again. I don’t know how she does it over and over; I have difficulty losing even once,” Ashwiny chuckled.
Nonetheless, Ashwiny could not help but point out that Kangana did turn the tables on her and made her work in the most efficient way. “I usually demonstrate how I want a scene to be done. So, for a sunrise shot, where she had to run around the track, Kangana insisted I show her how. I kept telling her there was no need since she already knew where the mark was and how to run, but she was adamant. When I puffed my way back, she sweetly told her assistant, ‘Isko pilaao kuch. Subah se isne kuch khaya bhi nahin hoga’,” she recalled.
Besides Kangana, the ensemble cast comprises Jassie Gill, Richa Chadha and Neena Gupta. The film will be presented by Fox Star Hindi and is slated to release on January 24, 2020.
