Karan Johar shifts release date of Vicky Kaushal's 'Bhoot Part 1- The Haunted Ship' to February 21 next year; Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Bala' takes its release date of November 15, 2019

Actor Vicky Kaushal, who is coming up with the horror drama Bhoot Part 1 - The Haunted Ship, recently unveiled the film's official poster. In the poster, Vicky was seen being pulled into the water by a woman ghost while he is struggling to get out. The film, which also stars Bhumi Pednekar, is helmed by debutant director Bhanu Pratap Singh.

Although the film was earlier slated to release on November 15 this year, Karan Johar, who is backing the project under his banner Dharma Movies, confirmed on Friday that its release date has now been pushed to February 21, 2020. "The tides have changed!!! Even FEAR  needs precision! And for that we need the time to scare you sufficiently and efficiently! #BHOOT has a new date !! The 21st of FEBRUARY 2020 ! SEA you then and try and help @vickykaushal09 escape this haunted ship," he wrote on Twitter.

On the other hand, Bala, which will have actor Ayushmann Khurrana playing the role of a prematurely balding man, was slated to be released on November 22. However, now it has taken the release date of Vicky starrer and will hit the screens one week earlier on November 15. KJo revealed the same on Twitter, The Further GOOD NEWWZ ( pardon the plug) is that my friends funny, poignant and mazedar film #Bala has a new date which I am proud to announce to all of you!"

Producer Dinesh Vijan's film also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam. While Bhumi plays a dusky small town girl, Yami will be seen as a supermodel from Lucknow in the quirky comedy.

With the change in the date, the box-office clash between Marjaavaan and Bala has been averted. Now, only Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria's Marjaavaan will release on November 22.
