Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan, after wrapping the shoot of their first together, an untitled Imtiaz Ali directorial in Himachal Pradesh, penned appreciation post for each other and shared the same with endearing unseen pictures from the shoot on their Instagram account. Soon, Ranveer Singh made a cheeky comment on it just to remind Sara and Kartik that he was the first person to introduce them to each other. For the unversed, Ranveer played cupid for the two last year during the Simmba's promotions. As the Simmba co-stars were attending an award show for the promotions, they bumped into Kartik and Ranveer arranged for their cute meet and made them exchange their phone numbers too.

Sara expressed her affection towards Kartik during her appearance on the celebrity chat show hosted by Karan Johar- Koffee With Karan Season 6 with her father Saif Ali Khan. The Kedarnath actress also said that she would like to go on a coffee date with him. Soon when Karan discussed the same with her stepmother Kareena Kapoor Khan on her visit to the show, she replied, "Sara's dating her career." Later after Karan brought up the topic of Sara's desire to date Kartik, Kareena said, "He's wonderful. They'll make a good pair. They're planning to do a film together. He's massy, and she's classy."  

Speaking of the film, apart from Sara and Kartik, the untitled film features Randeep Hooda in an important role. It was shot across four locations starting with a schedule in Delhi in March then Udaipur followed by Mumbai and finally Himachal Pradesh. The crew shot for a total of 66 days. Directed by Imtiaz, the film is presented by Jio Studios, Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, Imtiaz Ali and Reliance Entertainment’s Window Seat Films. It is scheduled to release on February 14, 2020.
