Katrina Kaif is awaiting the release of her film Bharat, which stars Salman Khan, and it was recently announced that she will also be a part of Rohit Shetty's cop universe as she joins Akshay Kumar in Sooryavanshi. But it doesn't end there as we now hear that Katrina has been approached to play Arjuna Award-winner PT Usha in her biopic, to be helmed by director Revathy S Varmha.
A leading daily quoted a trade source as saying, "Revathy has had a few sittings with Katrina over the past few months. The duo met few days ago in Mumbai for another narration. While the actor seems to be interested in the project, she will take a call only after the final narration. If Katrina gives her nod, it will mark her first biopic. She will have to undergo rigorous prep for the part, including adopting PT Usha's sprinting style. Since the athlete is on board, she is likely to supervise the actor. For now though, Katrina has only signed Sooryavanshi after Bharat."
Not to forget, Priyanka Chopra Jonas was rumoured to star in the biopic in 2017 but things did not fall into place that time due to the actress' professional commitments.
Meanwhile, the biopic is expected to focus on on-track exploits of PT Usha, who not only won over a 100 medals during her career but earned the nickname of Payyoli Express because of her speed. So if Katrina takes up the role, it would indeed be a huge boost to her career and add to her eclectic lineup of films.
