Shraddha Kapoor quits Saina Nehwal biopic because of date issues; Parineeti Chopra steps in to play the shuttler

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor shooting for a film based on the life of Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal in September last year after months of training. However, she had to take a break from work soon after she was diagnosed with dengue in October. While the actress was expected to resume shooting in April 2019, we now hear that Shraddha has walked out of the film due to her hectic schedule. Interestingly, Parineeti Chopra has now been roped in to fill in her shoes as the ace shuttler in Amole Gupte-directorial, which is being produced by Bhushan Kumar.

A leading daily quoted a source as saying, "Despite everyone’s best efforts to accommodate the Saina biopic, dates were clashing, so it made sense for Shraddha to opt out. The decision was taken by mutual consent. Meanwhile, Parineeti loved the script and will start prep soon."

For the unversed, Shraddha is working on Chhichhore and Street Dancer 3D apart from sharing the screen space with Tiger Shroff in Baaghi 3 and with South superstar Prabhas in action-thriller Saaho.

Meanwhile, Bhushan Kumar confirmed the news to the daily and stated, "We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics."

On the work front, Parineeti too has an eclectic mix of films ahead and will be seen in Kesari, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and Jabariya Jodi.
