The RK Studios has been one of the most integral parts of many artists in Bollywood. Owned by one of the founding families of Bollywood, the Kapoors, it holds a great value to them and the fraternity alike. Named after Raj Kapoor, the Chembur studio has been one of the foundation legos of the industry. Hence, given its popularity, a lot of parties have been interested in investing in the prime property since the buzz hit of the studios being on sale hit the roof.
Reports suggest that the Kapoors are now in the final stages of negotiation with Godrej Properties. According to a leading daily, the Kapoors will soon seal the deal with the leading estate giant. A legal notice was put up in all leading newspapers saying that all persons, entities holding any right or claim to the RK Studios to contact the legal firm with documentary evidence within 14 days from Saturday.
During Ganpati this year, the men of the Kapoor Khandaan came together to celebrate the festival one last time. Rumors very well suggested that this would be the last time they celebrated the festival. And well, by the looks of it, it's finally happening!
When asked by the daily, Randhir Kapoor didn't mention any specific names but instead mentioned about 3-4 parties being interested in investing. He also mentioned the deal would be sealed with the best offer in a month's time.
When asked for a comment, the lawyers of Godrej Properties simply stated, "As a matter of company policy, we do not comment on market speculation."
