Twitterati deliberately misunderstand Rishi Kapoor’s wedding advice to Ranbir-Ayan

The irrepressible Rishi Kapoor tweeted a picture of his son and heir Ranbir Kapoor along with his Brahmastra director and bestie Ayan Mukerji. Both are sporting the typical headgear worn at traditional functions and yes, sporting it rather cutely too!

They were snapped at the Nita and Mukesh Ambani-hosted grand pre-engagement party for their son Akash and his fiancee Shloka Mehta on Thursday evening at their residence in Mumbai. A host of Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, wife Gauri, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas had also attended.

Of course, proud papa Rishi had eyes for his dapper son, as he shared an image of Ranbir and Ayan on Twitter, writing, “Best friends! How about you both getting married now? High time!”

Rishi has made no secret of the fact that he would like his son to settle down and marry, though we never knew he harboured the same hope for Ayan! Within no time, the comments started flowing in. While journalist and writer Khalid Mohammed remarked, “You have the greatest sense of humour… haha… too funny,” other users chose to deliberately misunderstand Rishi’s words.

One user wrote, “To each other???” while another quipped that they would make a great couple, “both equally recognized and respected!” One user wrote in, “What Rishi ji meant here is both should get married to two different girls, not to each other,” even as another thanked him for clarifying and clearing the confusion!

Yet another user took a dig at Ranbir’s headgear to write, “After the success of Sanju, now preparing for Govinda’s role in Raja Babu avatar!” That was a pretty neat observation, we have to say. Many chose to agree with Rishi and his wish to see his son married, adding, “Aaj kal ke ladke I tell you, pata nahin kya chahte hain zindagi se!” With the way Ranbir has been opening up about his love for Alia Bhatt, Rishi’s nuptial advice might be taken sooner than expected!
