Films clashing makes bad business sense and naturally, filmmakers try their best to avoid a face-off at the box office. Of course, sometimes clashes are inevitable owing to various professional reasons. For instance, it looks like Manmarziyaan and Paltan are set to hit theatres on the same date, namely September 7. However, now it is learnt that this is simply not okay with Manmarziyaan’s leading man, Abhishek Bachchan…

The actor, who returns to the big screen after a long break, is reportedly keen to avert a clash with Paltan. And his hesitancy has more to do with personal than professional reasons. Paltan happens to be directed by JP Dutta, the man who had directed Abhishek in his film debut, Refugee back in 2000. Clearly, Bachchan Jr is not in favour of clashing with his mentor’s film. Another reason for wanting to avoid the clash could have something to do with the fact that Abhishek had initially signed on for JP Dutta’s Paltan, till he suddenly decided to quit the project at the last minute.

These could well be the reasons that Abhishek is looking to avoid coming in on the same date when the veteran director-producer returns after 12 years with a real-life war story. He has reportedly asked his film’s makers to postpone the release of Manmarziyaan by a week. However, this too comes with its share of problems…

It appears that Ajay Devgn has decided on September 14 to release Kajol’s film, Eela. Ajay and Abhishek have been childhood friends and are known to be close family friends as well. How will they manage to avert this clash, one wonders!
