Dhadak Trailer Out: The Janhvi-Ishaan starrer is a celebration of love in its own unique way

After much anticipation and wait, filmmaker Karan Johar is finally out with Dhadak trailer starring late Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor's half-brother Ishaan Khattar. The film is an adaptation of director Nagraj Manjule’s Marathi cult film Sairat which took the box office by storm in 2016, emerging out to be hugely successful. Shashank Khaitan who has previously directed the Dulhania series is helming this project.

The story takes place in Rajasthan where Janhvi and Ishaan first find each other. They express perfectly yet keep it subtle how they have been swept off their feet just at the first look.

The story, as seen previously, revolves around two teenagers, Archie and Parshya, residing in the same village but belonging to two different communities and classes. Truly in love, the couple decides to fight against all odds and live happily ever after. After much struggle and conflict, they finally elope to a new city with a foreign language and decide to start anew. Parshya, being the man of the house, takes up various tasks and odd jobs to bring food on the table for the two. After a few years, when the two are mature enough, they get married and settle down.  Just when they think that their life was finally shaping into the reality that they dreamt of, Archie’s maternal relatives come to take it all away… in one shot… and forever.

While Dhadak is said to be an adaptation, we’re all set to see a new take on the film. And so, no guesses can or should be made about its narrative or climax. That would just hinder the flavour of the film. And after such a long wait, we only want it to be a sweet surprise. Right?

Sairat, being a regional film, found its audience across borders. Its music, composed by famous duo Ajay-Atul, became a common tune for people to hum. So, do not be surprised when you find yourself dancing your hearts out to the Hindi recreation of the Marathi song Zinghat. Earlier today, the makers of the film announced that there will be an official remake of the song. It will feature the Janhvi and Ishaan dancing to choreographer Farah Khan’s moves. A source says, “The track is both offbeat and commercial at the same time.” It is said that the song “recapitulates the flavour of the movie.”

We're already counting days until July 20, 2018, when the film will officially hit the theatres.
