Kangana Ranaut to do 15-days prep for Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Kabaddi film

Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari before teaming up with Alia Bhatt will be collaborating with Kangana Ranaut on a sports film where the actress will be essaying the role of a Kabaddi player. Kangana played the role of a national level athlete in her film Tanu Weds Manu Returns before this, now she will be taking on the thrilling game of kabaddi for her next film. The actress who is busy shooting for her film Mental Hai Kya opposite Rajkummar Rao will take on Ashwiny’s film next. Apparently, she has allotted her dates from October to December to the sports drama.

Kangana has kept aside a 15-day-long window in August for the preparation of her role as a kabaddi player. A source quoted, “Kangana's Mental Hai Kya wraps up on July 11. She will immediately fly back to Mumbai and complete some patchwork of Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. She has to devote two days for a brand shoot. But, for the most part of August, she and Ashwiny will be busy doing workshops for the kabaddi film."

The director is on the lookout for a kabaddi coach who will be able to train Kangana in the sport. “Ashwiny is screening national-level kabaddi champions' profiles to find the one who can handhold Kangana through the sport. While Kangana has already started practicing yoga to be able to master holding breath - a pre-requisite of the game - the prep will see her learning different kinds of holds and kicks. Learning the crocodile hold and wrist catch will be crucial. She will also need to undergo a change in terms of her physique," added the source. Kangana is looking forward to playing the role of the athlete and bringing the game of kabaddi to the silver screens. She is eagerly waiting for Ashwiny’s script to delve further into her character.

Kangana’s forthcoming projects include Mental Hai Kya and Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. On the other hand Ashwiny has signed Alia for a light-hearted project after her intense spy-drama Raazi.
