Besides Taimur, here’s what Kareena can’t imagine her life without…

Many actresses today choose to veer into film production but there is no distracting Kareena Kapoor from her first and only love… “After 18 years of working in this profession, I don't think I can think about anything else because I always wanted to be an actor so, I can't imagine life without acting," she said when quizzed on foraying into other fields.

However, this fourth-generation actress has different plans when it comes to her son, Taimur. Asked about what profession she would like Taimur to get into when he grows up and she quipped, “Well, I would want Taimur to be a cricketer.” Taimur, as we know, has both a film as well as a cricketing legacy. While his maternal great-grandfather downwards has been in films, paternal grandfather Tiger Pataudi was India’s legendary cricket captain.

Kareena was recently felicitated at an awards show with the 'Power Icon' award presented by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The star-studded event saw artists from the entertainment industry, who have played a vital role in spreading awareness among the masses, being felicitated.

Speaking about being the recipient of the Maharashtrian of the Year title, she smiled, “Of course, each award is important. We always get awards for our work in films but when you get awarded by your own state as 'Maharashtrian of the Year' with so many important dignitaries getting it, then, I think it becomes very special. I am very proud of my state and city. I am a true Mumbaikar and I feel very humble to receive this honor.”

She was even more generous in her praise of co-star Akshay Kumar, who has also conferred the Maharashtrian of the Year honor. “I think there is no one more deserving than him (Akshay) because his choices of films are so brave. He tries to do something different in films with relevant topics,” she declared.

All eyes are now on Kareena’s comeback film post motherhood – Veere Di Wedding, which releases June 1.
