“Me and Sushant will collaborate on something exciting very soon”, Rajkummar denies earlier reports

Recently buzz had it that Rajkummar Rao refused to play second lead to his Kai Po Che co-star Sushant Singh Rajput. Now, however, Rajkummar has denied all such reports. He mentioned that such a film was never offered to him! The film in question happens to be helmed by Dangal fame director Nitesh Tiwari’s next, a two-hero project which is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

In 2013, Rajkummar and Sushant were relatively new in the industry when they starred together in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che.  Since then, both the actors have become critically and commercially acclaimed in their own space.

According to leading daily, Rajkummar trashed the reports which were doing the rounds that he will not share the screen space with SRR anymore.  Talking about his former co-star, Rajkummar said, “He’s one of my closest friends in the industry, with whom I can have a heart-to-heart chat. We never met for the said film; I don’t know from where these stories are coming.” But it seems a good collaboration is always a ‘big yes’ for the actor. Rajkummar added, “Kai Po Che is a really special film for all of us, and I keep getting messages on social media handles that we all should collaborate again. I’m sure that both me and Sushant will collaborate on something exciting very soon.”

On the opportunity of working with Nitesh, the actor added, “I have immense respect for Nitesh sir and really admire his work. As a fan, I can’t wait to watch his films and am sure this one will be wonderful as well. Can’t wait to collaborate with him on something soon.”

On a professional front, Rajkummar will be seen on April 16, 2018, in Hansal Mehta’s Omerta. The film is his fourth collaboration with the director. Previously, they came together for Shahid, Aligarh and City Lights. Omerta is based on the life of a British-Pakistani terrorist who was involved in attacks including 9/11 and 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Next, he will be seen with Kangana Ranaut in Mental Hai Kya.
