The promotions for Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani Baaghi 2 are in full swing. During a press interaction today, the actors finally opened up about the ongoing controversy regarding the remake of the iconic song Ek Do Teen. The 90s superhit track from Tezaab featured Madhuri Dixit-Nene in the lead and was applauded for her grace and adaah, making a dance number an iconic track. Yesterday, the remake version of the number starring Jacqueline Fernandez was released and received severe backlash and criticism from the viewers. Many felt tampering with a classic number was not only a bad choice, but the practice of remixing and remaking an old number should be banned!

Today, Tiger was questioned about the tepid response Jacqueline' EK Do Teen version received. To this, the actor had a completely different take! "That was expected. It was obvious! When you touch a remake, you are bound to get mixed reactions. Over here, the only idea behind Ek Do Teen was, we were just paying tribute to a legend like Madhuri Ma'am. Nobody can touch match up to Madhuri ma'am. I can just put out there and make it clear. That being said, Jacqueline worked very hard, she did a good job on her part. Ganesh Acharya who choreographed this song was a dancer in the song which Madhuri featured. So, no way we are trying to blow our trumpet or horns. That wasn't the idea. The idea was to pay slight homage to Madhuri Dixit Ma'am and relive the tune of Ek Do Teen."

When Tiger's co-star Disha was asked if she was disheartened with the mixed response Jacqueline's Ek Do Teen has got, she answered, "No, the song is doing so well. C'mon, how many million views are there on the song! Look at the positive side."
However, Disha was reminded that majority viewers didn't like the number at all, and the actress replied, "It does not matter. Views count. Views matter. It has got so many views in one day. And that's not bad. It wasn't my decision to touch the cult song. But people are comparing and it's not fair. You cannot compare to Madhuri Dixit ma'am. She is an icon and the song is an iconic number. This is just a tribute. It is nothing close to her. And its a modern remix for the new generation people who were not born in that era. So just enjoy the new song."
