The Saif-Madhavan historical has set our heartbeat racing!

Two of our favourite men coming together in one film and we have five fiery reasons fuelling our excitement...

Saif Ali Khan and R Madhavan. Both Bollywood blokes and yet most of the typical B-town dudes! They are good looking for a rugged, real men kinda way, are well read and well spoken, and carry themselves with a certain casualness and with no evident ego. Gosh, we could go on and on about these two!

They will be coming together after 17 long years. That’s a long, long time since they were last seen in Gautham Menon’s romantic drama, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. This pairing is sure to whip up some great cinema and we can’t wait to sample it.

Say Rajasthan and we are hooked immediately – even the infamous Karni Sena couldn’t cure us of our Raj hangover! This film will be a period film set in Rajasthan and we are already imagining powerful men and possibly more powerful feuds! We will let you know that the actors are already brushing up on their sword-fighting and horse-riding skills.

The film is being produced by Aanand L Rai, one of our faves. He is the man who put together some great entertainers, easy on the eye and high on substance, like Nil Battey Sannata, Happy Bhag Jayegi, Shubh Mangal Savdhan and Mukkabaaz. So it’s a given that he isn’t going to be blotting his copybook anytime soon.

Helming the film as director is Navdeep Singh. The name will ring a bell for two stunning films - his debut in Bollywood Manorama Six Feet Under, which was a murder mystery that was critically acclaimed, and considered one of the best noir films. More recently, his thriller NH10, Anushka Sharma's home production, with her in the lead, socked it right between the eyes with its gripping, gritty tale of honour killing and patriarchy. That it was a commercial success as well, proves the audience has come a long way, considering half the members of the Censor Board wanted to ban the film outright!

In short, we cannot wait!
