Ranbir, Alia and Big B's next to be titled 'Brahmastra'

Filmmaker Karan Johar gave fans of Amitabh Bachchan a surprise to celebrate the septuagenarian actor’s 75th birthday today. While Mr. Bachchan himself is in the Maldives, daringly challenging the Indian Ocean with adventurous water sports, KJo announced an ambitious film for August 15, 2019 that will star Mr. Bachchan with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt and be directed by Ayan Mukerji. It’s called Brahmastra, which in Sanskrit means a powerful and highly explosive weapon, and according to mythology was created by Lord Brahma for the purpose of upholding Dharma and Satya – the truth and laws of the cosmos.
The announcement of Brahmastra comes a day after Karan announced he is joining Akshay Kumar to make Kesari, a film based on the Battle of Saragarhi, which his tweet said was “one of the bravest battles fought in India”. This time, KJo tweeted that Dharma Productions was embarking on a journey into the realm of a fantasy adventure series which will be a trilogy. Fox Star Studios and Namit Malhotra are joining hands with him on this one.
