It's real to reel time for Ranveer and Hrithik

Amidst the rumours, Ranveer Singh has been confirmed to play the iconic all-rounder, Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's film which will roll next year. Ranveer will step into Kapil paaji's shoes, who led India to its first Cricket World Cup victory in 1983. On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan will essay the role of mathematician Anand Kumar in Super 30 which will be helmed by Vikas Bahl.

While Arjun Kapoor's name was doing the rounds for Kapil Dev's film, Akshay Kumar was touted to be a strong contender for the reprising Anand's role.

Director Kabir Khan had watched the unforgettable '83 match as a schoolboy, a memory etched in his mind which he is now keen to bring to life on 70mm screen. He claims this is probably one of the most exciting stories he has worked on and he couldn't think of anyone else for reprising the legendary sports persnality's role. As for Ranveer, this is the first time he will play a sportsman in a film and the casting of the project is currently in progress.

Similarly, filmmaker Vikas Bahl is set to bring the amazing journey of Anand Kumar to the audience, who started an initiative to coach 30 meritorious but underprivileged students to crack JEE, the entrance examination for the Indian Institute of Technology. Over the years, all his batches have 100% success rate, with an inspiring and selfless journey to tell. Even Anand feels Hrithik will be able to do justice to his character as 'the actor's dedication towards his work and the kind of versatility he exhibits is inspiring.'

Time to bring the real-life heroes to reel-life.
