The woman, who had accused television actor Karan Oberoi of rape and mental harassment, has been arrested by the Mumbai police. The lady who tried to frame Karan in a rape case allegation and get him arrested has now herself been arrested by the Oshiwara police station. The woman is accused of filing a false complaint against Karan and orchestrating an attack on herself on May 25 when she was taking a morning walk.
In May, the lady had filed an FIR against Karan at Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai under sections 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion). It alleged that Karan duped her under the pretext of marrying her and that he raped her, filmed the act and threatened to release the video unless she paid him the money he demanded. On 25 May, she claimed to have been attacked by unknown miscreants who pressured her to withdraw that case. Four people were arrested in connection to the attack, one of whom was found to be related to her lawyer Ali Kashif Khan upon investigation. The person then accepted that the entire attack was pre-planned by the woman herself. This added up to her case being maliciously false.

Now, Mumbai Police has confirmed that the woman has been arrested. Karan was granted bail on June 7 by the Bombay High Court in the rape and extortion case filed against him.
