Power-packed blazers to dazzling tassels and feisty cat suits, breakout trends witnessed on the runway of Milan Fashion Week 2022!

The now-ended Milan Fashion Week 2022 undoubtedly opened the sartorial floodgates and highlighted the best of seasoned brands showcasing their Fall 2022 collection. This season saw its moments too. With the invasion of Ukraine dampening the fashion vibe, Giorgio Armani decided to use his runway quietly without any moment acknowledging the distressing situation while Moschino’s Jeremy Scott brought runway back to life with his campy collection featuring built-in harp and big ben clock dresses that reminded us of Beauty And The Beast.

From drama to spunk and sultry to athleisure, this fashion week stopped at all pit stops giving us a generous dose of glamour, from each front. From power-packed blazers to dazzling tassels and feisty catsuits here are some notable trends that made the right noise:

Pulling out the big guns, brands such as Versace, Tods, Del Core, Dolce & Gabbana, Max Mara, Gucci and Prada, amongst many others, delivered a power-dressing mantra with their oversized blazers and boardroom suits. Apart from oversized blazers with also saw shoulder pads, oversized trousers and tailored two pieces this fashion season.

FEISTY CATSUITS

Not just sophistication, the fireworks on the runways of Milan oozed some sultry vibes in the form of feisty catsuits. From body-hugging one-and-done pieces from Blumarine to Roberto Cavalli’s animal prints, we saw catsuits in all their glory.

Revamping the closet staple with embellishments, patchworks and floral designs, brands like Prada, Etro, Capasa Milano and Dolce & Gabbana presented us with an upgraded version of puffy bombers

One thing that was prominently seen on the runway were those flimsy, sheer, see-through dresses. From Fendi’s barely-there silk chiffon skirts to ACT N°1’s jaw-dropping lingerie-gowns, we saw a lot of drama unfold at Milan. Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, GCDS and Gucci were some of the other brands who joined the bandwagon.

With Gucci collaborating with Adidas for this season, we saw a lot of glamour unfold on the runway with athleisure in limelight. Setting the sporty tone for dressing brands like Annakiki, Diesel and Max Mara offered their hybrid version of racer necklines, multi-pocket cargo pants, sporty dresses.

CUTESY CUT-OUTS

Cutouts emerged as one of the prominent trends on the runway. From dresses to gowns and catsuits, one saw a lot of these, this fashion season, all thanks to brands like Blumarine, Roberto Cavalli, ACT N°1, amongst others.
