Keeping up with the ‘new-normal’ led on by the times of Coronavirus Pandemic, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) brought us the first-ever digital version of the India Couture Week 2020. So far this virtual soiree has been high on glamour and safe to say, the Day 4 didn’t disappoint us either.

Designer duo Shantanu & Nikhil presented us with their ‘Resurgence’ collection and it was everything that we needed to see.

This collection witnessed a lot of classics revived and reinterpreted with a modish touch. Elements like metallic work, intricate zardosi were brought back to add the element of sparkle and glamour that elevated the look of the collection pieces.

Floor-length anarkalis, embellished and embroidered lehegas, metallic cocktail gowns along with some suave bandhgalas and sherwanis were quite prominent in this collection. The shade card ranged from gold and metallic to subdued pastels, royal blues and blood red.

Another interesting fact about this presentation was that it was the only show with virtual celeb front row seats- Actress-model Sophie Choudry, as well as actor Aparshakti Khurana along with his wife Akriti Ahuja and sister-in-law Tahira Kahshyap, cheered for the show and extended their support, dressed in designer’s ensembles.

Although the designer duo revived their own classics, they revamped it to create a neo luxe collection with a sustainable twist that signified hope, strength and paid an ode to the craftsmanship.
