Tunisha Sharma's mother, Vanita Sharma, levelled serious allegations against Sheezan Khan and his family and accused them of forcing the actress to follow Islam. After the 20-year-old actress died by suicide on December 24, he was arrested by the police for interrogation and he remains to be in police custody for another 12 days approximately. Now, after Vanita claimed in a press conference that Sheezan would slap Tunisha and his sister Falaq Naaz took her to the dargah, the actor's family called for a press conference to put their side of the story forward.
The press conference was addressed by Sheezan's mother Kehekshan, sisters Falaq Naaz-Shafaq Naaz and their lawyer, Advocate Shailendra Mishra. Addressing allegations made by Tunisha’s family, Sheezan's family told the media that they are baseless. They further clarified that there's no love jihad angle attached to the entire matter. During the press conference, the actor's mother hit back at Tunisha's mother's allegations.
She said, "Tunisha's mother Vanita disrespected us a lot but we will maintain our dignity. She claimed that Falaq took her to a dargah but she has no information about that. You give us proof! You are talking just senseless things. She also accused Sheezan of slapping Tunisha. If your child is being tortured on sets like this, will you just sit and talk on phone? Hamare bacche ko thappad maare aur hum aise baithe rahenge maa hone ke naate? She used to talk to me so she could have told me about it. She used to eat at my place, stay with me. So when this incident happened, why did she wait? Why didn't she come to my place and slap Sheezan? Was she waiting for Tunisha to take this step?"
She further added, "One more thing, Vanita has lost her only child and her lawyer was busy taking power of attorney. You have lost a child! Your mission should only be to find out why your child took this step. The truth should come out in the world. How can a mother do this? I also want justice for her because she was like a daughter to me too. Only God knows how difficult this journey is for us. Tunisha was like a younger daughter to me. She is gone. On the other hand, my son, who is innocent, is in jail. Vanita is after him. What do you want Vanita ji? Your daughter has committed suicide, do you want my son to commit suicide too? You are torturing him."
Sheezan's lawyer said in his statement, "Tunisha was very happy with the time she spent with Sheezan's family. Pawan Sharma, who claimed to be Tunisha's maternal uncle, was actually her manager, who was fired by her. All these allegations have also been made by that so-called uncle only. Tunisha fired him because she was unhappy with his interference."
