Barun Sobti feels he was the 'worst thing' in his first show Shraddha; Sanaya Irani reveals people said she looked like a 'monkey' because of her red cheeks

Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani are friends for almost a decade now. They are often seen celebrating birthdays, festivals and gatherings. This time, the co-stars of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon reunited for a chat show. During the interaction, Barun and Sanaya opened up about their professional and personal lives.

In a segment, Barun was asked to name his worst film or show. The actor told, "Quite a few, I have. But I think the first show that I did for Star Plus, it was called Shraddha. I think I took the whole boat down by my own self. I was the worst thing in the show. It came out for two-three months and I was horrible. Shraddha aired in 2009 and Neha Janpandit was paired opposite Barun.

On the other hand, Sanaya opened up about being criticised for her appearance. The actress revealed that people would call her ‘white cockroach’ or ‘lizard’ because of her fair complexion. Sanaya recalled an incident when a Gujarati family said she 'looks like a monkey' as she had red cheeks and a red nose in school.

"When I was in a boarding school in Ooty… I am really fair, if everybody has noticed, and I was ten times fairer then. I was looked at differently in that school. People looked at me and said ‘white cockroach’ or ‘lizard’. I heard a Gujarati family once say, ‘She looks like a monkey’. They were saying it in Gujarati but I knew Gujarati, they didn’t know that. We were in school, eating ice cream and they were like ‘look at her’ because I had red cheeks, red nose, all of that. They were like, ‘She looks like a monkey.’ So, for me, when people looked at me, I always connected it to ‘they are going to say something weird about me’," Sanaya told.
