Veteran actress Neetu Kapoor and her daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni were the special guests on Sunday’s episode of The Kapil Sharma Show. The episode was a laugh-a-riot coupled with revelations made by Neetu about her husband Rishi Kapoor and the Kapoor Khandaan.
Kapil complimented Neetu on her fitness and said that she looked fitter each time he saw her. He also asked her how she could remain fit in the Kapoor household since they are well documented for their love for food. Neetu fondly reminisced about how she would make Rishi follow a diet which he would agree to only to make her happy. She said, “Main baat nahi karti thi 6-6 mahine. Ke pehle aap patle ho, phir main baat karungi (I would not talk to him for six months at a time, I would tell him to first lose weight and only then I would speak with him). Then he used to get fed up. ‘Achcha, bata, kya karna hai (Okay, tell me what to do).’ Then he would do and go back to eating.”
Neetu revealed that she was put off food by the family as they constantly spoke about meals and discussed the menu at length. She also pulled Kapil’s legs and teased him about having daughter Anayra and son Trishaan in quick succession. She said, “Aapne bohot jaldi jaldi nahi apne bachche paida kiye? Ek ke baad ek, kuch aaram nahi dena wife ko (Your children were born in such quick succession. One after the other, you didn’t give any rest to your wife).”
To this jibe, Kapil said that when his daughter Anayra was born in December 2019, the first wave of the Covid-19 hit the country and when his son Trishaan was born, the second wave spread. He said, “Beech mein afwah aa rahi thi ki teesri leher bhi aa sakti hai. Meri biwi mere ko dekh ke (There were also rumours that there might be a third wave. My wife looked at me).” When Neetu asked him about not bringing wife Ginni Chatrath to the show like his mother, Kapil joked and said, “Woh mere saath reh nahi sakti hai. Teesri leher, bataya na maine aapko (She cannot stay with me, she is scared of the third wave).”
