Recently, in an interview to a leading tabloid, television actress Shweta Tiwari claimed that her 17-year-old daughter, Palak Tiwari was the first choice of Kasautii Zindagi Kay reboot. She said that her daughter was indeed approached for the role but she turned it down. "Yes, I would have told her to go ahead and do it. In fact, everybody was saying, even from Balaji (production house) that she should do it. It was she who said ‘No mom, I don’t think I can do a daily soap and work day in and day out. I cannot do that at this point in time," she said.
However, Ekta Kapoor who is Shweta’s close friend and also the producer of the show refutes it. Reacting to Shweta’s claim, Ekta took to Twitter to dispell the rumours.
On one hand, Shweta claims that Balaji had approached her daughter for the lead role and on the other hand, Ekta is not even aware of it. Ekta just discredited Shweta’s claim outright, didn't she?
A few months back, there was a buzz about Palak making her Bollywood debut opposite Darsheel Safary in the film Quickie. However, the young lady backed out at the last moment. Shweta clarified about the last minute change in a statement given in June 2018. She said, "For the past few months I was constantly bombarded with questions regarding Quickie, and Palak’s debut. We really wanted Quickie to be the way to go but the process was too protracted and Palak’s 12th grade has now begun. Therefore we decided it would be best if we retracted ourselves from the project since Palak’s education is of paramount importance at this point in time."
Meanwhile, Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi fame Erica Fernandes has been roped in to play the role of Prerna in the reboot while Parth Samthaan, who rose to fame with Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan will be seen stepping into the shoes of Anurag Basu. The iconic role of Komolika will be played by Hina Khan. Ronit Roy's Mr.Bajaj is still under wraps and it is not known which actor is going to step into his shoes in the show.
The show will go on air from September 25, 2018.
