The first song from Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, titled Aankh Marey, starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan, has been released and comes with several surprises. Firstly, it stars co-producer Karan Johar in a special appearance, who exclaims while performing a short gig, “Oh God, one more Remix.”
And then, boom, Ranveer and Sara, twinning in black perform quirky steps to the redux of the 1996 chartbuster from the film Tere Mere Sapne. Now for the second surprise. Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Kemmu, who appeared in Rohit’s Golmaal franchise, also feature in Aankh Marey as they dance with Ranveer and Sara.

Simmba highlights several issues including the empowerment of women and fighting crime against women. It narrates Sangram Bhalerao’s journey as his character undergoes a valiant change in the film – from a corrupt cop, Bhalerao turns into a determined police officer, who sets out on a quest for justice to avenge a woman’s rape and subsequent death.
Simmba is the remake of Telugu film Temper and is scheduled to release on December 28. It is Sara’s second film after Kedarnath, which marks her debut in Bollywood.
