Kate McKinnon joins Margot Robbie in Warner Bros, Mattel and LuckyChap film’s Barbie; Jack Quaid joins Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer; Amanda Seyfried to star opposite Tom Holland in the anthology series The Crowded Room and Megan Thee Stallion and Nathan Lane to star in A24’s first movie musical F*cking Identical Twins that will also star Bowen Yang and Megan Mullally.

Kate McKinnon joins Margot Robbie in Barbie

Warner Bros. film Barbie continues to rope in A-list stars for its ensemble. Kate McKinnon is set to join the cast of the film that is centered on the iconic doll line starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. America Ferrara and Simu Liu also feature in Greta Gerwig’s directorial. Margot will play Barbie while Ryan will play Ken. However, Kate’s role hasn’t been revealed yet.

Jack Quaid joins Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’

Jack Quaid has joined the ever-increasing star-studded cast of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. The film already boasts of a stellar cast that includes Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett and Cillian Murphy, who is set to star in the title role as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who ran the Manhattan Project that led to the invention of the atomic bomb. The film is slated to release on July 21, 2023, roughly two weeks before the anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing. Details about Quaid’s role are not out yet.

Amanda Seyfried to star opposite Tom Holland in The Crowded Room

Amanda Seyfried is set to star opposite Tom Holland in Apple’s seasonal anthology series The Crowded Room. The series will be directed by Kornel Mundruczo. He will also executive produce the first season. The Crowded Room is written and executive produced by Akiva Goldsman and the anthology series will explore inspirational stories of those who have struggled with mental illness and learned to live successfully with it. The first season is based in part on Goldman’s own life and inspired by Daniel Keyes’ biography The Minds of Billy Milligan.

Megan Thee Stallion and Nathan Lane to star in musical comedy ‘F*cking Identical Twins’

Nathan Lane and Megan Thee Stallion will team up for A24’s first musical film F*cking Identical Twins that also stars Bowen Yang and Megan Mullally. The R-rated musical comedy is currently in production and is being directed by Larry Charles. F*cking Identical Twins follows two business adversaries who realize they’re identical twin brothers and decide to switch places in order to reunite their divorced parents and become a family again. It is described as a “subversive” spin on Lindsay Lohan’s The Parent Trap with original songs by Aaron Jackson, Josh Sharp and Karl Saint Lucy. Sharp and Jackson have also written the script and also star in the film.
